My 3rd graduation

Hello hello xanga world. Well, tis time for my yearly entry. I finally graduated from med school on May 16th, and now I'm officially Renee Lin, DO. If you don't know what a DO is, read: http://www.osteopathic.org/index.cfm?PageID=ado_whatis
(I'm too lazy to explain after 4 years :P)
Next step is residency! I'm starting a family medicine residency (three years) at Kaiser Permanente Orange County, where the hospital is in Anaheim and the clinic in Santa Ana. Excited? Yes. Nervous? I wasn't, until I realized that I'm going to have a huge amount of responsibility that I'm not ready for, and I still look like I'm in 10th grade :( It's kind of a strange feeling to be in this netherlands, between school and residency, as well as between student and fully-licensed/boarded physician. I sort of feel like a fake doctor :P Also, I'm not too excited about working 80 hours a week and dropping off the face of the earth.
What else is new...well, I'm in the process of cleaning out junk in our condo that has accumulated for almost 3 years, and doing major reorganization. Furniture, curtains, home office stuff is really time consuming and expen$ive!! I don't know what we'll do if we get a house and I'd have to buy stuff for more than 3 rooms. Plus clean all those rooms. Man, domestication is really tiring :(
alright, well, as you can see, my posts get more and more boring. Many apologies. See you again in 2011! :)

update #3

(wow, it took me a while to figure out how to make an entry). anyhow, i just checked my own xanga for the first time in a year and i realized that in my last post i sound like a bigtime loser, so here's my attempt to establish some sanity in your eyes :P. i was really going bonkers last year but this year, it's a little less pathetic--I still study for boards at the Yorba Linda library but it's a couple days a week, when i have a day off. i feel less psychotic that way.  This year, it's Step 2 of the boards. Let's see...other updates: I am a 4th year student now, still in rotations, and doing residency apps...scary!! i *think* I like Family Medicine. Tony and I are great--1 year and 8 months have gone by super fast. he really is the best. :) also teaching jr high sunday school at church, which is a challenge, but rewarding in its curious way.
and that's about it.
wow, that was a really boring post. oh well, i don't do it regularly. email me and let me know how YOU'RE doing! :)

milestone #2

well hello there all you xangaphiles. you know, i am THIS close to writing in a xanga more than once. why, you ask? BECAUSE I HAVE NO LIFE! i think i keep up with a whopping 5 people in my life, 1 of which is Tony. the rest of the world i have no idea what is going on with them, and they have no idea of what's going on with me. not like i have anything new to say except "study".  frankly, i am quite sick of this non-life called studying. basically my day consists of going to the yorba linda library for 8-9 hours, studying, eating dinner, and going out to starbucks or It's a Grind to study. i'm serious, the highlight of my week is getting another box stamped on my It's a Grind frequency card. (I have only 1 more box to go till i get a FREE DRINK! yes!). oh and another highlight is seeing a First Aid book on someone's table and gleefully hoping we could bond and be friends and study together!! (the friends part has yet to be realized). (sigh). NO LIFE.
OR, i could just let xanga be a posting of all the major things that happen to me--getting married, taking the board exams, having a baby....HAHA. yeah right. that post won't come till like 2010.
alright back to studying.
that's all folks. go back to your xanga surfing.

hmm. this is the first time EVER i've posted. i wonder if anyone will read this. i vowed to myself i would never post b/c i think Xanga is a voyeuristic way of reading people's lives.... but i have to say something. guess what (invisible audience)???? i'm getting married in 4 days!! how crazy is that? to mr. tony who is the best guy God could ever give me. He really is amazing :) and to think, 6 years ago i was thumping "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" on any male head that tried to get near me...ah the irony.

ok back to studying for my exam on wednesday. oh the ways we procrastinate.
